HOPE PATHWAYS FOR COMMUNITIES OUTREACH REPORT

Schools Visited: Adugo,  Nyasoko, Aringo, Primary, Aringo, and Aala Primary schools

Targeted population: Over 600 learners and 60 teachers

Overview:

Hope Pathways for Communities in partnership with Osiep Nyathi organized school visit events to four primary schools in Migori County. The main focus of the event was to support the teachers and students in these schools with scholastic material, sanitary wear for girls, dissemination on Reproductive health and motivation on career development.

Activities and objective:

1. Distribution of School Stationery: To provide students with the necessary tools to enhance their learning experience.

2. Dissemination of Reproductive Health Education: To educate students on matters relating to reproductive health and well-being.

3. Career Development Motivational Sessions: To inspire and encourage students to pursue their academic and personal goals.

4. Teacher Engagement: To engage teachers in discussions on positive reinforcement and the importance of community collaboration in child development.

5. Sanitary Wear Distribution: To provide sanitary pads to the girls to promote a healthy and comfortable menstrual period. It also aimed at addressing challenges faced by the girls that mostly affect their attendance

6.Partnership and Networking: To building Stronger working collaboration with the local communities, the school management and the learners.

Outcomes:

  • A stronger partnership was created between the organization, its partner, the local community, the learners, and the school management
  • Teachers were motivated and empowered to continue with career development and mentorship to the learners
  • Female learners were supported with sanitary wear to help them manage their menstrual periods with consistent learning attendance
  • Over 600 learners received scholastic materials that included books, pens, erasers, and pencils.

Learners were empowered through discussions and presentations on Reproductive health awareness and the cultivation of individual collective responsibility
